As a member-driven, member-supported organization, the Vermont Chamber brings together diverse interests to foster positive action on issues of common concern to the business community.

Our Advocacy team focuses on the issues of excessive government regulation, taxation, education, tourism, mandated health care, workers’ compensation, and energy. With decades of experience working with the Legislators and administration, our advocacy team has the knowledge and contacts to make a difference for your business.

187Betsy_Bishop.JPG Betsy Bishop is President of the Vermont Chamber of Commerce.  Prior to coming to the Vermont Chamber, she served as the Commissioner of Economic Development. Bishop worked for Governor Jim Douglas for seven years, beginning with his transition team. She then went on to lead his policy and legislative team for six years as his Deputy Chief of Staff.  Prior to this Bishop served as Vice President of Government Affairs at the Vermont Chamber of Commerce from 1994 to 1998, before starting her own company which advocated for businesses in the state legislative and regulatory arenas. 802-223-3443 or email:bbishop@vtchamber.com.

187Vicky.jpg Vicky Tebbetts heads up the Vermont Chamber’s tourism division. She represents Vermont’s hospitality industry at the State House, and advocates on behalf of our members on a federal level through the Vermont Chamber's partnerships with the National Restaurant Association and American Hotel and Lodging Association. Vicky holds a seat on the Travel Recreation Council, the governor-appointed body that works with the Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing. She is also the President of the Vermont Attractions Association, Chair of the Scenery Preservation Council, Vice Chair of the Vermont Travel Industry Conference Board of Directors, and a member of the Agriculture Culinary Tourism Council. 187ChrisC.jpg Chris Carrigan began working for the Vermont Chamber in February, 2008. He leads the membership team, runs several marketing services, inlucing the Vermont Chamber Webinar Series, and manages the Vermont Aerospace and Aviation Association (VAA). Chris also manages a memorandum of understanding with the Vermont Environmental Consortium (VEC) and serves on its Board of Directors. As Chair of Marketing & Publicity with VEC, Chris works to promote growth and job creation in Vermont's environmental business sector through networking, information sharing, events, and special projects. Chris advocates on behalf of Vermont Chamber members for legislation that promotes growth and gjob creation in the aerospace, aviation and related industries. Chris works directly with state and governmental officials and leaders in higher education and Vermont's environmental sector. He is a native Vermonter who grew up in Essex. Prior to coming to the Vermont Chamber Chris spent 14 years working in Boston in marketing and technology.
