Nominations Now Being Accepted for the Top 10 Winter Events
Berlin – Annually the Vermont Chamber of Commerce presents a list of the state's best activities for each season. It is now time to nominate your favorite winter activities as Vermont Top Ten Events. The Winter Top Ten is published in the Vermont Chamber's Winter Vacation Guide , the official tourism publication for the State of Vermont.
All events located in Vermont and scheduled between November 1, 2011, and March 31, 2012, are eligible. Events are chosen based on a number of criteria, including their appeal to out-of-state visitors as well as Vermonters and their appeal to a diverse audience, including children and families.
An independent panel of judges will review all applications and choose the top ten based on the size, past audience, room for growth, and the date and location of the event relative other events. Top Ten Award winners are chosen to represent the variety of celebrations that define Vermont, in areas such as arts, history, agriculture, community, and recreation.
Winners will be notified in late June and will receive an electronic version of the Top Ten logo to bolster marketing efforts, and a framed certificate. At no extra cost to the winners, the Top Ten Events list is widely distributed in tourism publications, and on the Vermont Chamber’s online events calendar at www.VisitVt.com. The Top Ten designation often helps event organizers attract visitors and media attention.
