Nominations Now Accepted for the Vermont Chamber’s Annual Top Ten Winter Events 2010-11
Nominate Winter’s Best Activities From All Four Corners of Vermont!
Every year, the Vermont Chamber of Commerce presents a list of the state’s best activities for each season. It’s now time to nominate your favorite winter activities which will be published in the Vermont Chamber’s 2010-11 Winter Vacation Guide, the official tourism publication for the State of Vermont. All events located in Vermont and scheduled between November 1, 2010, and March 31, 2011, are eligible. Events are chosen based on a number of criteria including their appeal to out-of-state visitors as well as Vermonters, and to a diverse audience, including children and families. Due to the additional attention a Top Ten Event Award garners, the event must also be able to accommodate an influx of visitors up to twice the normal count.
An independent panel of judges will review all applications and choose the top ten applicants based on the size and past audience of the event, if there is room for growth within the event, complete and timely application by the event coordinator, as well as the geography, and dates relative to other events. Top Ten Award winners are chosen to represent, as a whole, the variety of experiences that define Vermont, such as celebrations of arts, history, agriculture, gardening, community, and recreation.
Winners will be notified in late June and will receive an electronic version of the Top Ten logo to bolster marketing efforts, and a framed certificate suitable for display. At no cost, this premier events list is widely publicized through press releases to national media and in tourism publications, including 100,000 copies of the Vermont Chamber’s Winter Vacation Guide, and on the Vermont Chamber Hospitality Council’s frequently visited online events calendar at www.VisitVt.com.
Applications must be postmarked by Friday, June 11.
Please contact Karen Foote, Publications Assistant, with any questions or to receive a nomination form (802-223-3443, kfoote@vtchamber.com). Forms are also available at www.vtchamber.com under the “events” link.
