Recent Vermont Chamber of Commerce outreach to tourism members illustrates that Vermont’s lodging, dining, retail, and attractions continue to develop innovative methods of drawing visitors to Vermont this holiday season. In turn, the Vermont tourism industry’s use of Vermont’s brand, coupled with a reputation for a high standard for service, encourages visitors to experience Vermont, stay longer, and come back.
Many of Vermont’s business collaborations reflect Vermont’s image of being an unique and natural family destination. Businesses that rely on tourism are offering discounts for longer stays, hosting special events and holiday activities, providing samples of Vermont’s signature Cheddar brands and other homegrown specialty foods, and more.
In addition, small lodging properties are partnering with larger businesses such as ski and ride resorts to round out the visitor experience. Other strategies to pair activities with lodging include discounts and coupons to local shopping, museums, day spas, holiday events and “open houses,” and other attractions.
The Vermont Chamber of Commerce informally polled its members in the lodging, dining, retail, and attractions sector statewide during the first two weeks of December.
###The Vermont Chamber of Commerce, the largest statewide, private, not-for-profit business organization represents nearly every sector of the state’s corporate/hospitality community. Our mission is to create an economic climate conducive to business growth and the preservation of the Vermont quality of life.
