Vermont Chamber Representatives Appointed by Governor

Because of the Vermont Chamber's strong reputation in the field of international trade specifically in Asia, the Legislature added language that allows a Vermont Chamber representative to serve on the Vermont Commission on International Trade and State Sovereignty. This group is charged with conducting an annual assessment of the legal and economic impacts of international trade agreements on state and local laws, state sovereignty, and the business environment.

At the recommendation of the Vermont Chamber of Commerce, Will Dodge of Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC, has been appointed by the Governor to fill this seat. Dodge has developed a strong legal practice that focuses on telecommunications law, environmental and land use development, and electrical energy siting projects. Dodge also has extensive experience with clients on cross-border issues involving trade (particularly labeling and customs) and has worked on projects involving Quebec and other parts of Canada with a recent focus on siting communications facilities in proximity to the border.

Also of note, Vermont Chamber Senior Vice President Vicky Tebbetts has been appointed by the Governor to serve on the Travel & Recreation Council (TRC). This group advises the secretary of the Agency of Commerce and Community Development regarding state travel and recreation policy, state travel and recreation promotion programs, and other department of tourism and marketing programs. The council also assists in preparing long-term, comprehensive travel and recreation plans.
