Vermont Chamber Hospitality Council Wins Award from American Hotel & Lodging Association
The Vermont Chamber Hospitality Council is excited to announce that it has been chosen as the recipient of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) Chairman’s Cup Award for outstanding performance in membership development for 2008.
"We are excited to receive this award," noted Vicky Tebbetts, Vice President of the Vermont Chamber Hospitality Council. "Through our state partnership with the American Hotel & Lodging Association, we are delighted to deliver to our members nationally-recognized education programs and advocacy in Washington DC on national and international issues that are meaningful to Vermont's hospitality industry."
AH&LA honored 10 partner state lodging associations with the annual Chairman’s Cup awards at the June 24 board of directors meeting at the Hilton Chicago. The awards recognize AH&LA partner state associations that have had the most significant increase in membership development and retention programs during the previous year.
“Vermonters have always been known to spend their money wisely, so it stands to reason that our innkeepers should support an organization which gives them so much in return,” said Pennie Beach, Chair of the AH&LA Resort Committee and Vermont’s representative to the AH&LA Board.
The Vermont Chamber Hospitality Council received its award for the greatest increase of rooms in the $0 - $49,999 dues category.
“We are thrilled these state associations have taken on innovative measures to increase their industry influence during these especially challenging economic times,” said AH&LA COO and Executive Vice President Pam Inman, IOM, CAE. “Their dedicated, on-the-ground efforts help AH&LA get closer to its goal of having the most comprehensive voice on behalf of our country’s lodging industry.”
The Vermont Chamber of Commerce has grown to become the largest state-wide private, not-for-profit business organization which represents nearly every sector of the state's corporate/hospitality community.
