Vermont Chamber of Commerce Seeks Nominations for Top Ten Summer & Fall Events 2010!
Nominations are now being accepted for the Vermont Chamber of Commerce annual Top Ten Summer and Fall Events. The Top Ten lists Summer’s and Fall’s best activities from all four corners of Vermont.
All events scheduled between April 1, 2010 and August 31, 2010 are eligible to Summer applicants. Events scheduled between September 1, 2010 and October 31, 2010 are eligible to Fall applicants. Your event qualifies for consideration as a Top Ten Event if it appeals to out-of-state visitors as well as Vermonters, and if it appeals to a diverse audience, including children and families. Due to the additional attention a Top Ten garners, the event must be able to accommodate an influx of visitors up to twice the normal count.
An independent panel of judges also considers the size and past audience of the event, if there is room for growth within the event, complete and timely application by the event coordinator, as well as the geography and dates relative to other events. Top Ten award winners are chosen to represent, as a whole, the variety of experiences that define Vermont, such as celebrations of arts, history, agriculture, gardening, community, and recreation.
Winners will be notified in October and will receive an electronic version of the Top Ten logo to bolster marketing efforts, and a framed certificate suitable for display. At no cost, this premier events list is widely publicized through press releases to national media. The Top Ten Summer Events and Fall Events lists are featured in 200,000 copies of the Vermont Chamber’s Vermont Vacation Guide (the official tourism fulfillment piece of the State of Vermont), and on the Vermont Chamber Hospitality Council’s frequently visited online events calendar at www.VisitVt.com.
Applications must be postmarked by Friday, September 18, 2009. Please contact Karen Foote, Publications Assistant, with any questions or to receive a nomination form (802-223-3443, kfoote@vtchamber.com). Forms are also available at www.vtchamber.com under the “events” link.
